Mary Murry
Mary Christina Murry, age 88, of Delavan, MN, died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Blue Earth, MN. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, MN. Father Andrew Beerman will officiate and interment will be in Calvary Cemetery-rural Delavan, MN. Face masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed.
Mary Christina was born March 11, 1932 in Easton, MN, the daughter of Raymond and Rose (Schimek) Paul. She was united in marriage to James Murry on November 26, 1953 in Easton, MN. The couple lived in Philadelphia for 2 years after their marriage while Jim was in the service. They then moved back to the family farm near Delavan. Mary and Jim loved to travel and after retiring they spent their winters in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Mary was an avid reader, she enjoyed sewing and tending to her flower garden. She was a member of a garden club and a book club. Mary was a fan in the stands at countless ballgames; and the grandkids will fondly remember her for her famous chocolate chip cookies and blankets she made for them.
Mary is survived by 4 children: Jeanette (Mike) Verdoorn of Blue Earth, MN, Barb Austinson of Kasson, MN, Ken (Karin) Murry of Rochester, MN and Brian (Janelle) Murry, of Kasson, MN; 11 grandchildren: Michelle Kniess, Laura (Trudell) Kolpack, Bob (Kylie) Verdoorn, Drew Austinson, Derrick Austinson, Vanessa Murry, Rachel (Brandon) Gilbertson, Becky (Dalton) Snow, Nick (Haily) Murry, Carter Murry and Addie Murry; great-grandchildren: Rowan and Crew Kniess, Ryan, Ben and Jenna Kolpack, Arnez and Aiyana Austinson, Brock and Kinsley Gilbertson, Brinley Snow and Maverick Murry; siblings: Gene (Jane) Paul, Carolyn (Jim) Willette and Ron (Marti) Paul; sister-in-law Bernie Paul; many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James (2013); daughter Cathy (1989); son-in-law Dave Austinson; brothers: Donald Paul, Dunnell Paul, Cyril Paul, Bernie (Eileen) Paul, George (Naomi) Paul; sisters: Margaret (Oliver) Tibodeau and Evelyn (M.C.) Hardy.

I had the privilege of getting to know this lovely lady, Mary, when I worked at Curves years ago. I looked so forward to her coming in and sharing stories about her wonderful family whom she loved so much. My deepest sympathy to all of her family at this most difficult time.
I was very sorry to hear about Mary. She was a great lady. I always loved visiting the Murry household growing up.
I will miss Mary and Jim.
