Marlene Wedin, age 84, of Alden died on Monday December 7, 2020 at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community. The family plans to hold a memorial celebration in the future. Marlene was born April 14, 1936 in Wells, Minnesota to Bert and Lillian (Feist) Olson. She graduated from Wells High School. On January 31, 1959 she married Rodney Wedin. Marlene was a life-long homemaker in the Alden area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wells, where she taught Sunday School for forty years. She was an active member in the Wells American Legion Auxiliary, where she helped prepare countless meals for the post over the years and rolled dozens of lefse for many Holiday seasons. She loved to bowl and would volunteer to serve as the secretary of the league, keeping track of all the bowlers and their teams scores and standings. She also enjoyed quilting and made many beautiful quilts for family and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Lillian Olson, her husband Rodney (April 27, 2020), sisters Adeline and Cindy, brothers Howard and David, son-in-law Kevin Schulz.
Marlene is survived by her five children Mike Wedin and wife Carrie of Nisswa, Minnesota, Brenda Schulz of Alpharetta, Georgia, Milo Wedin of Owatonna, Minnesota, Barb Greff and husband Brian of Roland, Iowa and Mark Wedin and wife Jennifer of Alden. Twelve grandchildren, Samantha, Dustin and Andrew Schulz, Chase, Dylan, Cody and Dane Wedin, Ashley and Jens Greff and Hayley, Faith and Abby Wedin and one great grandson Elijah.
Sorry for your loss. I remember when your parents and my parents (Don & Marlene Staloch) did many things together plus the steak fry at the legion. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
