Vernon Heise
Vernon Norbert “Vern” Heise, age 71, of Easton died Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home in Easton, MN. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 4, 2021 at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago, MN, with Pastor Darren Scruggs officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Easton, MN, at a later date, with military honors accorded by the Wells Color Guard. A public visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN from 2:00-5:00 PM. Face masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed.
Vern was born July 28, 1949 the son of Norbert and Frieda (Laitenberger) Heise. He started grade school in Minnesota Lake and then transferred to Easton in 1st grade. Vern was a graduate of Wells-Easton High School Class of 1967 and then honorably served in the U.S. Air Force as an E4 Senior Airman. After returning home he was employed at Easton Grain, the Easton Farmers Elevator, Wells Truss Plant, USC School and miscellaneous places to stay busy. Vern married Gayle Staloch on December 1, 1984 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Easton, MN. He loved cutting and splitting wood, and helping his family with their projects. Vern was always willing to help whenever, where ever and whomever. Vern was a member of TEAM of Easton, a 50 year member of the Wells American Legion, and a retired member of the Easton Fire Department of 29 years. Once you met Vern you never forgot him, he truly touched many hearts with his kindness.
Vern is survived by his wife Gayle Heise of Easton, MN; Chad (Kari) Colby of Waconia, MN, John Heise (fiancé Sarah Herfendal) of Alden, MN, Krystle (Brandon) Wood of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Emersyn and James Colby, Wyatt Heise and Austin Wood; brother Don Heise of Easton, MN; father-in-law: Louis Staloch of Easton, MN; sisters- in-law: Vickie Heise of Renton, WA, and Margo Latusek of Easton, MN; brothers-in-law: Craig Staloch of Minnesota Lake, MN and Bryan Schmidt of Northfield, MN; many nieces, nephews and their families.
Vern is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Robert; Mother in law: Marvel Staloch;
sisters-in-law LaRue Staloch and Sheila Schmidt.

So sad to lose Vern! We had a nice visit when he stopped by the farm about 1 month ago! He was easy to visit with. Butch has many memories with Vern in elementary school and Lutheran church in Easton. He will be missed! Thoughts and prayers coming your way!

Sorry to hear of Verns passing , remember Him from growing up in Easton area. I went to catechism with Him. met up with 2 years ago when He was mowing at phils park had a good time catching up
