Donna Armstrong,
Donna Armstrong, age 91, of Mankato, died Monday, March 1, 2021 at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, MN. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake with Fr. Greg Havel officiating. The Service will be Livestreamed on our Bruss-Heitner Facebook Page. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Minnesota Lake, MN. The family requests that memorials be made to MCHS Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Donna was born in Shelby Township, Blue Earth Co., MN the daughter of Harold S. and Grace C. (Sloan) More. She attended country school in Faribault Co., and graduated from Mapleton High School, the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Warner (Bill) Armstrong in 1948. The couple lived in rural Mapleton, Easton, and then to Minnesota Lake in 1959. Donna had worked at Brecht Drug, then M & M Insurance Agency, and became a licensed insurance agent. She worked in insurance and retired from Minnesota Lake Agency in 1996. She served on the Faribault County Human Services Board for 7 years, was active in Minnesota Lake School and an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She served Minnesota Lake City Council. She was a member of the National Assoc. of Insurance Women, served as President of Mankato Chapter and was a Minnesota State Director. She served/volunteered on the Minnesota Lake Ambulance. She moved to Wells in 1994. She liked to sew, do Hardanger and cross-stitch embroidery. She enjoyed a good game of Bridge, and enjoyed reading, cooking and baking. She spent many years with Bill in deep south Texas from November till April and made many good friends over the years.
Donna is survived by her husband Bill of Mankato; children: Mary Jo (Dennis) Sonnek, Steve (Cindy) Armstrong, Tom (Sharon) Armstrong, Lisa (Clint) Nelson; Grandchildren: Noel Sonnek, Darren Sonnek, Courtney Lehmann and Chelsey Hendrickson; Zachary Armstrong; Tyler, Tanner, Slater and Jaycie Nelson; 3 great-grandchildren with one arriving in March; brother: David More and several nieces and nephews, and foster daughter Ann Singh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert, Donald and sister Janet Louise.

Bill and family so sorry for loss.
