Arnold Schroeder
Arnold Roger Schroeder, also known as “Butch” and “Arnie”, age 71, of Wells, MN, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home in Easton, MN. Public Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2021 from 4:00-6:30 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home, concluding with a memorial Service at 6:30 PM. Interment will be (Tomorrow), Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. The public is invited to attend and Military Honors will be accorded by the Wells Color Guard. Arnold was born July 26, 1949, the son of Arnold and Helen (Murphy) Schroeder and was raised in the Wells area. He married Vickie Reibeling on August 25, 1972 and to this union four children were born. He joined the Navy in 1969 as a Seabee. He then worked for Giese Farm Drainage. In the year of 1976 he and his brother, Sonny, started the business Southern Minnesota Farm Drainage. After this, he started a 26-year career with MNDOT and retired in 2016.
Arnold raised fantail pigeons since he was a boy until the day of his death. He loved fantail pigeons, the community of breeders who became dear friends, sold birds all over the world, attended thousands of Pigeon shows where he won numerous awards through the years, including a Mid America Fantail Club Master Breeder Award in 2006. He also loved to fish and hunt through the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Darlene Schroeder and Marlene Sonnek; brothers: Garold “Buddy” Schroeder, Harold “Sonny” Schroeder, and Gerald “Jerry” Schroeder.
Arnold is survived by his four children: Bryan (Amy) Schroeder, Keith (Lacy) Schroeder, Adam (Joann) Schroeder all of Wells, MN and Krystle Schroeder of Minneapolis, MN; 11 grandchildren: Hailee (Jordan) Bentley, Ongelle, Gabe, Josey, and Eva Schroeder; Tyler (Malarie), Blake, Nicholi, Kaylee Schroeder; Lilah and Reeve Schroeder; 2 great grandchildren: Sutton and Piper Bentley; siblings: Patty (Mike) Armstrong of Mankato, MN and Kenny (Tina) Schroeder of Wells, MN; along with many nieces and nephews and their families. He was loved by many for his spirit and will be greatly missed.

Our deepest condolences. Arnie was a great guy. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him, but we use to talk on the phone quite often. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Schroeder Family.. God Bless

I am really sorry for your family’s loss. I worked with Butch for a number of years. He always had a way to lighten the mood and make you smile. Whether it be through action or words. I will miss that.
