Michael was born August 30th, 1952 in Mountain Lake, MN, the son of Richard and Jean (Ewert) Lepp. He graduated from St James High School class of 1970, and Vo-Tech in Mankato, MN in 1972. On June 23, 1973, he was united in marriage to LuAnn Sandberg at Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, MN. Mike was a year round sportsman. He hunted pheasants, geese, ducks, coyotes, and he loved fishing. If you couldn’t find him hunting or fishing, you could find him on the golf course. He was in elevator management for over 40 years, starting with Easton Farmer’s Elevator. He did the best he could for his customers, and enjoyed the many friendships he made. Mike was a member of the Easton Volunteer Fire Department and City Council for many years. He was proud of his 3 kids, and taught them his strong work ethic. Mike loved spending time with his family at the lake. Many summer days were spent towing his kids on tubes, water skis, and wakeboards (with a little fishing in between.) Car rides with Mike would involve him drumming at the steering wheel, and singing harmony to almost any song. He loved his grandkids so much, and almost became a kid himself when he played with them. He was a helpful person – anytime family or friends needed help, he was there. He even helped his daughter plant apple trees and deploy grape nets. Mike was an early riser. He enjoyed having coffee with his Easton friends. He was always active. He loved to tinker on projects, install and fix things. He also shared a love of remote control cars with his son.
Mike is survived by his wife, LuAnn (Sandberg) Lepp, three children, Melanie (Matthew) Schmid of Roberts, WI, Lisa Lepp (Kevin LaRochelle) of Queen Creek, AZ, and Derek Lepp, St Cloud MN. He is survived by his grandchildren Austin Schmid, Elizabeth (Elsie) Schmid, and Ilana (Lily) Schmid of Roberts, WI, as well as step grandchildren, Ella LaRochelle & Gibson LaRochelle of Queen Creek, AZ. Parents Richard and Jean Lepp, brother Mark Lepp all of St. James, MN, sister Connie (Randy) Christensen of Brainerd, MN; Mother-In-Law Agnes Sandberg, LuAnn’s siblings: Ron (Marlyce) Sandberg all of Butterfield, MN, Bonnie Schuder of Fairmont, MN, Mark Sandberg of Sherburn, MN, Tom (Michelle) Sandberg of Plymouth, MN, and Dan (Nancy) Sandberg of St. James, MN; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Melvin Sandberg and a brother-in-law, Jerry Schuder.

Mike taught me how to hunt. I have since brought 100+ young people into hunting The reach of his mentoring has moved into the thousands So many have him to thank, for their experience in. Hunting.
R.I.P. Mike………………..always enjoyed Mike. We bought and sold each other a few hunting items over the years.
Mike and I shared many sunrises and wonderful moments that are the special bonds duck hunters share but seldom talk about. I very fondly remember ALL of them, wishing, as all of us who knew Mike, that we could have had, Just One MORE! May the wind be at your back and the sunrise magnificent, good waterfowling friend!!
So sorry for y’all’s loss. Mike was my neighbor in Easton the last year and a half. Loved talking golf with him. He was also in process of putting a head on a new shaft for me. Mike was a great guy and neighbor and will be missed. Praying for all of you.
Our thoughts & prayers are with you all.

Mike was a very good friend. He and I shared an apartment in Mankato when we went to Vocational School. So sorry for the loss,I will miss him.
I’m going to miss the conversations we had after the morning hunts on one of the sloughs we both hunted. I met Mike the year before he retired and he was always there for my grandson and me when we were getting our blind set up for another duck season. We will miss you this fall Mike but we know you are in a better place!
