Kenneth Kastens
Kenneth “Kenny” J. Kastens, age 59, of Waseca, MN, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN with Pastor Scott Olson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Easton, MN.
Kenny was born May 28, 1962 in St. Peter, MN, the son of Ronald and Violet (Spragg) Kastens, he was the 2nd oldest of 8 siblings. As a teenager Kenny was nicknamed “King”. He worked at Winegar Inc. in Waseca for over 25 years as a lead foreman. You could often find Kenny out on the open road with his Harley Davidson. Kenny enjoyed the outdoors; he loved to hunt, fish, forage for mushrooms and ice fish, either alone or with family and friends. He had tremendous bow hunting skills. Kenny loved a good meal and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews and his Waseca kids who meant so much to him.
He is survived by his siblings: Rhonda Fuhrmann of Wells, MN, Kelvin Kastens of Easton, MN, Kevin (Kim) Kastens, Roberta Kastens, Fred Kastens, Renee (Jesus) Soto and Ramona (Mario) Rubio all of Wells, MN; 13 nieces and nephews: Timmy (Natalie) Kastens, Patrick Kastens and Hope Garcia; Brenda (Corey) VanArsdale, Adriana and Dianna Soto, twins: Cristian and Rahj Soto; Joyce Rubio (fiancé Tommy Kirsch) Silvia, Alicia, Justin and Abbie Rubio; great-nephew Ezekiel VanArsdale; and one on the way; numerous aunts, uncles and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

Kenny will be greatly missed! We loved walking by his house and smelling his delicious food on the grill and enjoyed the happy neighborly chats! Always so friendly and nice to everyone!
We were so sorry to here of Kenny’s passing. Won’t be able to have a “sammich” with him again. He put up a good fight and will be missed!
