Dorothy Ann Garver, age 80, of Mapleton, MN, formerly of Wells, MN died Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Mapleton Community Home. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Open Doors Methodist Church in Wells with Pr. Chris Leistra officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells, MN. Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells is entrusted with arrangements.
Dorothy was born Jan. 31, 1942 at the family home in Wells, MN, the daughter of William and Mildred (Gaines) Frederick. She attended Wells-Easton High School and graduated May 28, 1959. Dorothy was united in marriage to Glenn M. Garver and to this union 5 children were born. The couple later divorced.
Dorothy was a stay-at- home mom for many years until moving into Wells, where she worked at the chicken factory in Wells for a while, then worked at Naeve Parkview Care Center in the kitchen for 10 years. Dorothy enjoyed doing puzzles and painting, but most especially watching her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Barbara (Greg) Tupa of Albert Lea, MN, Sandra Garver of Austin, MN, Deb Flores of Albert Lea, Paula (Rich) Schultz of Wells, and Dave Garver of Mapleton, MN; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one step grandchild; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Donald (Ellie), Gerald, Larry (Joyce), and former husband Glenn.
We want to acknowledge all the wonderful care the Mapleton Community Home staff gave our mother over the years the whole time she was a resident. We appreciate each of you!
Dorothy’s family wishes to say a special “thank you” to all the staff at the Mapleton Community Home and Heritage Place, along with St. Croix Hospice for all the wonderful care and attention given to Dorothy at her hour of death, we thank you.

My sincere sympathy to each of you. I fondly remember Dorothy from the Mapleton Community Home. She was such a delight to work with, always so friendly, and when I worked in the kitchen, she always thanked me for the wonderful meal.
