James A. Deutsch

James “Jim” Deutsch, age 80, formerly of Wells, MN, of Woodbury, MN died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Prelude Assisted Living in Woodbury, MN. A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00AM at Nasinec Funeral Home (789 Business Park Dr. Wells, MN 56097) with Father Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home (10:00 to 11:00 AM). Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells, MN. James was born Jan. 4, 1943 the son of Alois and Lucy (Busch) Deutsch in New Prague, MN. Jim grew up on the family farm in New Prague with his brothers Francis and Tom. Jim attended and graduated from New Prague High School, and enlisted in the Army reserves soon after. He was united in marriage to Nancy Jean (Passer) on May 29, 1971 in New Prague, MN.  To this union two children were born, Pamela and Michael.  Nancy preceded Jim in death on Dec. 14, 2008. Jim loved going to old time polka dances, collecting radios, and spending time with his dog. He enjoyed fishing, working on his cars, and having a sweet treat.

He is survived by his children:  Pamela (husband Sean) Ahrar of Burnsville, MN, Michael Deutsch of Brooklyn Park, MN; one grandson, Aryan Ahrar of Burnsville, MN; brothers: Thomas Deutsch of St. Paul, MN and Francis (Gail) Deutsch of Prior Lake, MN; along with several nieces, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Nancy.
