Jean Teresa Stenzel, age 93, of Wells, MN, died Monday, September 18, 2023 at The Shepherds Inn. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells with Father Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Casimir School and Church. Jean Teresa was born May 12, 1930, the daughter of Steve and Anna (Dulas) Dulas in Wells. Jean was united in marriage to Clem Stenzel, September 26, 1950. They had 3 sons. She was a member of St. Casimir Church, the National Society of Foresters and the Wells Golf Club. She was an assistant leader for the Walnut Lake 4-H Club along with her husband when the boys were young. She especially enjoyed the week-long vacation with all the family in Alexandria for the last 40 years every July. Jean and Clem spent 22 winters in their trailer in Mesa, AZ where they made many friends. She took part in many activities there.
Jean is survived by 3 sons: Dale (Connie) Stenzel of Wells, Brad (Lynn) Stenzel of Eagan, MN, Larry (Marsha) Stenzel of Wabasha, MN; 8 grandchildren: Steve (Sarah) Stenzel of St. Paul, Sara (Dave) Kuglin of Mankato, Candace Stenzel (Dustan Thomas) of Columbia, MD, Michael Stenzel (Clare Kelly) of Duluth, Jarred Stenzel of St. Joseph, Brandon (Courtney) Stenzel of Grand Rapids, Brittany (Kyle) Logan of Wabasha, and Kelsey Stenzel of Wabasha; 6 great-grandchildren: Ian and Aubree Kuglin of Mankato, Henry and Charlie Stenzel of St. Paul, Melody and Joseph Logan of Wabasha;
brothers-in-law: Art (Janet), Dan (Betty), and sister-in-law Barbara Stenzel all of Wells, MN.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clem (2015), her parents, brother-in-law Richard Stenzel (2020).
I went to grade school (St. Casimir’s) and high school with Larry. I remember him as a funny, kind, friend to all. His mother was likely a strong influence, I can see it from her picture. Sorry for your loss, guys. Always tough to say good bye to Mom
Jean was always so friendly and welcoming to us when we lived in Wells. We are praying for God’s comfort for the family.
