Berdell Ethel Tilda Trytten, age 101 of Wells, died Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. Funeral Service will be Thursday September 28, 2023 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Kiester at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peg Marose officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Nasinec Funeral Home (789 Business Park Drive Wells, MN) and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Berdell was born December 29, 1921, in Winnebago County, IA, the daughter of Clemet and Anna (Flo) Fure. She completed normal training in Cedar Falls, Iowa. On May 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to Arthur Trytten in Trinity Lutheran in rural Bricelyn, MN. Berdell taught rural school, was a secretary, worked at Kiester Grocery, and farmed with her husband for many years. She was a 4-H mentor and was involved in church activities including teaching Sunday School and Circle.
She is survived by her daughters, Twyla Trytten and Suzanne Martin; son, Paul Trytten; grandsons: Eric (Amy) Trytten, Jonathon Trytten, and Paul Martin; granddaughter: Amy Martin; great-granddaughters: Taylor Martin (Joel Gonzalez), Payton Martin (Alex Hagen), Ashley Bingham, and Teah Trytten; great-grandsons Tucker Trytten and Brody Trytten; great-great-granddaughter Emaliese Gonzalez; and great-great-grandson Maverick Bingham
Berdell was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; her parents; siblings: Odvin (Norma) Fure, Bernet (Isaac) Anderson, and Sarah (David) Elvebak, LuVern (Esther) Fure, Glen (Gladys, Marjorie) Fure, Josephine (Joseph) Lockrem, Percing (Tess, Jackie) Fure, Jenning (Peggy, Marcie) Fure, Wilmer (Margaret) Fure, and Wilma (Don) Thompson; sisters-in-law: Amy (Jim) Underwood and Bonnie (Chuck) Linder; and brother-in-law Ervin (Doris) Trytten.

Berdell loved life and lived it to the fullest. Even as her sight failed, she adapted and continued on. She lived many years at Shepherds Inn and was an inspiration to all her cared for her. Will miss her until we meet again…

Thank you, Ruth. Yes, it is difficult to become an “orphan” at any age. We were fortunate to have Mom in such good health for so many years. Most families are not able to have that privilege.
My sincere condolences to you all. I visited with Berdell back in June at The Shepherd’s Inn when I delivered flowers there from Neil’s funeral. She was such a delight to visit with.
