Ruth Arline Rankin, age 91 of Wells, MN, died Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Parker Oaks Senior Living in Winnebago, MN. A Funeral Service will be Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells officiated by Reverend Sarah Gengler. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Ruth was born March 17, 1932 in Mankato, MN, the daughter of Bert and Gail (Lovelett) Tweed.ย She attended school in Mankato, MN. She worked in housekeeping at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. Ruth married Bob Rankin on March 23, 1953 in Mankato, MN. They moved to southern California until 1975 and moved back home to Minnesota. Ruth was a stay-at-home mom of three children. She enjoyed doing word searches, shopping, going out to eat, spending time with her family, and sitting by a bonfire. Ruth was a kind, caring, and strong person.
She is survived by her children: Judy Melcher of Wells, MN, Rob (LaRae) Rankin of Eagle, NE, and Bunny (Mark) Elmore of Winnebago, MN; four grandchildren: Krysta (Will) Foster, Ryan (Kayla) Rankin, Erika (Mitch) Schlamann, and Cody Melcher; six great-grandchildren: William, Ella, & Olivia Foster, Peyton & Braxton Schlamann, and August & Miles Rankin.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents; sister Margaret Tweed; a brother in infancy; and in-laws Clifford and Nellie Rush.
