Jeffrey Dean “JD” Drews, age 56 of North Mankato, MN, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Lakeshore Rehabilitation Center in Waseca, MN from complications of heart disease. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Lembke Building in Minnesota Lake. There will be a Prayer Service concluding the evening at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private with his family.
Jeffrey was born August 19, 1967 in Wells, MN, the son of Robert and Linda (VanRossum) Drews. He attended and graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, then attended Southwestern Technical Institute in Jackson, MN with a degree in Auto Body Repair, graduating in March of 1988. He began his career working for Bill’s Auto and Lake Motors in Minnesota Lake. His career path included being a welder, truck driver, heavy equipment operator, farm laborer, and many other hands-on roles. JD’s hobbies and interests included riding and rebuilding motorcycles, restoring vehicles and creating one-of-a-kind projects. He was grateful for the support of his local AA fellowship and was proud of his 27 years of sobriety. He enjoyed traveling through trucking and his motorcycle trips with his most memorable being Sturgis and the Florida Keys.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents: Robert and Linda Drews of Minnesota Lake, MN, siblings: Dennis Drews of Kansas City, KS, Neil (Teresa) Drews of Broken Arrow, OK, and Angela (Ben) Youngerberg of Janesville, MN; Nieces and Nephews: Elizabeth and (Matt) Belford of Charleston, SC, Mary Margaret Drews and David Drews of Omaha, NE, Caden, William and Jack Youngerberg of Janesville, MN.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harold and Maybelle (Angier) Drews and Theodore and Lorene (Morsching) VanRossum.
Robert and Linda. Just letting you know Bernie and I are thinking and praying you find peace with your memories of Jeffery and know he’s in God’s hands. Love to all your family.

JD was a good kid! I loved having him in our Boy Scout Troop. Had fun on our camping & canoe trips. Always a good guy to call on when you needed something done, like presenting the American Flag at a ball game. Rest in peace my good friend. Jim More – M.L.

My deepest sympathies for the family. I knew JD when I worked with him at A&B Welding. He and I where in scaffolding accident working there together. He was a great guy!
