Marvin was born at home March 9, 1931 the first-born child of Marvin W. and Viola (Sydow) Courrier. He graduated from Kiester High School class of 1948. Marvin was united in marriage to Verla Mae Knapton on June 3, 1952 at the Rice Lake EUB Church rural Wells. To this union three daughters were born Diane, Sharon, and LeAnn. Longing for a son, they adopted Ronald in 1973.
Marvin farmed on the century farm in rural Walters until the couple retired and moved into Wells. The couple was very involved in their church, Wells Assembly of God. Marvin loved God and had a heart for ministry. He served on many ministry boards: Rice Lake Church, Red Rock Camp, Lay Witness Missions, Revival Fires, Church of God of Prophecy, Youth for Christ and Wells Assembly of God Church. He traveled the Midwest showing the film “The Judgement”. He was generous to the ministries he was passionate about. Marvin always enjoyed fishing of any kind. From fishing with cane poles to spearing Northerns from the ice. He enjoyed deer hunting and but mostly spending time with family and friends. Dad had a beautiful bass voice and sang in a men’s quartet, sang duets with his wife and often sang at funerals. Marvin also enjoyed flying in small planes. His love of pancakes often found him and his wife at many fly-in pancake breakfasts.

My sympathy to all. Spent many evenings and nights at the house with our group of guys in high school. Playing ping pong and foosball. Walked a few beans for them also. Rode with Ron home after many basketball and track practices.
Not many of the old neighbors left. Again my sympathy to all.
You’re all in my thoughts and prayers! Thank you for the honor of caring for your Dad! We miss him too💔
You all have our deepest sympathy!

Just learned of Marvin’s passing, wishing you God’s peace. I fondly remember working the farm(s) with him and his Dad where I learned about farming. He brought his Dad to our Father’s funeral and that was much appreciated.
