Lou was born in Springfield, MN on August 15,1935 to Lewis and Laura (Berg) Ludewig. She was raised in Wanda, MN, the eldest of three girls. In 1953, Lou graduated from Lamberton High School and moved to Mankato, MN where she found many lifetime friends and most importantly, John. Many nights were spent dancing in his arms at the Kato Ballroom. Lou and John were married on August 12, 1957 in Wanda and then made their home on the farm where John was born and raised. To this marriage, four children were born: Doug, Joleen, Cheri, and Pam.
Lou always made sure everyone was well fed. She spent her Saturdays baking sweet rolls, bread, cookies, and bars. Every fall, she made sure two meals a day were taken to the fields for everyone involved in the harvest. Most of the time, it was her cheeseburgers, each individually wrapped in foil and lovingly placed in a blue roaster to be kept warm. She then gathered a tupperware full of cookies or bars, a container of dill pickles, a thermos of coffee, and cold pop. She drove to each field and sat with each as they ate their lunch. Her grandchildren fondly remember riding along and getting one of those amazing cheeseburgers.
While the kids were growing up, Lou volunteered at Our Lady of Mount Carmel school in classrooms and the library. She was a member of the MCCW as well as the Easton Legion Auxiliary. As the kids grew older, Lou took a job at Telex Communications in Blue Earth. She took pride in her work and made many new friends whom she kept in contact with even after her retirement. Lou and John moved to Easton in 1998 where she served as the Easton Librarian and an election judge. In 2022, Lou moved to Friendship Court where she always enjoyed a good game of cards and bingo.
Lou is survived by her children Doug (Leslie) Becker, Joleen Anderson (Gary Hagedorn), Cheri Landsteiner (Steve), and Pam Priebe (Monte); grandchildren Emerson (Jayne) Kalis, Arron (Beth) Kalis, Jordan (Tara) Becker, Logan (Malea) Becker, Jenna Anderson, Justin (Codi) Anderson, Josh Anderson, John (Kelsey) Landsteiner, Jessica Landsteiner, Lincoln Priebe, and Laura Priebe; great-grandchildren Hayley, Kaden, Gloria, Maeva, Lucy, Annie Lou, Bergen, Seren, Baylor, Isabella, Kobe, Kori, Kash, and Carter. Also sister-in-law, Carmel Gingiss; brother-in-law, Ray Gores; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug, Les and family,
So sorry to hear of Lou’s passing. My thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with you all.
I have many special memories of Lou. Many nights Pam and I would be the tag alongs with Lou, John, Mom, and Dad as we would ride together in Johns fun van to many of Doug and Marks basketball games. Lou would always agree to let me spend the night at her bed and breakfast after the game. She was the best baker around. I knew she would always have some fresh baked goods around, and if I couldn’t find them on the counter, I knew to dig in her freezer. Thru the years, I spent many days and nights at the Becker home with Pam, and Lou always treated me like I was her own. She will always have a special place in my heart. God Bless Lou.
