Ardean Mary Schultz, age 92, of Wells, MN, died peacefully Sunday, December 17, 2023 at The Shepherd’s Inn.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 4, 2024 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN.  Burial will follow the service at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church (10:00-11:00 AM).     Please see www.nasinecfh.com to leave online condolences.

Ardean was born April 10, 1931, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Wenthold) Niebuhr in Wells, MN. She graduated 8th grade at country school. Ardean lived on the family farm until November of 1957 when she married Leo Schultz and the couple moved to Longmont, CO. She held various jobs but her favorites were working with food. She loved to cook and bake. Ardean was a great cook and famous for her cabbage burgers and sweet rolls, but the favorite among her children and grandchildren were her Monster cookies. She enjoyed dancing, especially the Waltz, and her flowers in her garden. Ardean belonged to St. Casimir CCW, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eagle Club in Albert Lea.

Ardean is survived by her 4 children: Lynn (Mark) Fendrich of Wells, MN,  Greg (Dena) Schultz of Brighton, CO, Alan (Sherry) Schultz of Loveland, CO, Bridget (Nick Krause) Wagner of The Woodlands, TX; 6 grandchildren: Joshua Schultz of Denver, CO, Nicole (Rob) Sims of Ashburn, VA, Logan (Jessica) Fendrich of Wells, MN, Zach (Cassandra) Fendrich of Wells, MN, Justin Wagner of Magnolia, TX, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Wagner of Spring, TX; Step grandchildren: Joshua and Jacob Jones; 4 great-grandchildren: Olivia Sims, Madelyn, Landon, and Makenzie Fendrich; in-law: Vicki Sonnek, Marilyn Schultz, Fran Schultz, Don (Laura) Schultz, Bonita Schultz, Corrine Schultz; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leo G Schultz; parents Albert and Margaret Niebuhr; brothers: Melvin (Alice) Niebuhr, Harvey (Helga) Niebuhr; sister Helen (Donald) Grunzke, and her twin sister Arlean (Jack) Barnick.
