Eileen Trio, age 89 of Mapleton, MN passed Monday, June 24th 2024 at the Mapleton Community Home surrounded by loved ones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton, MN on Friday June 28th at 10:30am with Father Peter Klein officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday June 27th from 4:00-7:00pm at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on June 28th from 9:30am-10:30am. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Beauford, MN.
Eileen was born August 27, 1934 to Louis and Rose (Ireland) Lynch. Eileen grew up in St. Clair, MN and graduated from St. Clair High School. She then moved to Mankato where she worked until she met August “Hap” Trio. The couple were married in St. Clair- Immaculate Conception Church on Easter Monday, April 22, 1957. The couple eventually moved to their 320-acre farm where they raised their 7 children. She loved everything outdoors; especially hunting, fishing, and raising sheep. Eileen worked side by side with Hap farming until the age of 85. She especially loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rose; siblings: Gertrude Meyer, Henry Lynch, and David Lynch; and in-laws Peter and Lucy Trio.
Eileen is survived by her husband August “Hap” of Mapleton; 7 children: Monica (Bryan) Linder of Easton, MN, Julie (Tony) Stevermer of Easton, MN, Nancy (Don) Linder of Bass Lake, MN, Sue (Shawn) Hassing of Blue Earth, MN, Steve (Jo) Trio of Beauford, MN, Karen (Tom) Stewart of Rochester, MN, and John (Marla) Trio of Mapleton, MN; 24 grandchildren: Sarah (Steve) Stenzel, Stephanie (Jon) Borscheid, Matthew (Angela) Linder, Mike (Brianna) Linder, Annie (Matt) Long, Sam (Kim) Stevermer, Nick Stevermer, Lauren (Garrett) Byrne, Andrew (Lindsay) Linder, Ben (Kelly) Linder, Megan Linder, Shane (Stacie) Hassing, Kate (Miah) Fogarty, Krista (Pete) Johnson, Lindsey (Brad) Lanoue, Bridget (Kyle) Servais, Jenna (John) Soucheray, Aaron (Dani) Trio, Shelby (Hayden) Swartz, Zach Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Mikaela (Luke) Krengel, Lukas Trio (fiancé Allison Sowers), and Nathan Trio; and 30 great-grandchildren: Henry, Charlie, Evelyn, Wes, Will, Kipp, Brynlee, Millie, Brycen, Blake, Maxwell, Eleanor, Lillian, Cameron, Grace, Scarlett, Oliver, James, Adeline, Jameson, Theodore, Jackson, Calvin, Levi, Nora, August, Grant, Callum, Lucy, Nolan, and baby Swartz on the way.
Monica and families, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Eileen is an amazing lady. She was one of my favorite residents when she was at Parkview in Wells. I enjoyed visiting with her every chance I got. You are very lucky to have her watching over you all. She will be an awesome angel.
