Louis T. Staloch, age 99, of Easton, MN died Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Good Samaritan in Albert Lea of congestive heart failure. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 10:30am with Father Pratap Reddy Salibindla officiating. Visitation will start at 9:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Military Honors will be accorded by the Easton American Legion Post. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Barber Twp., Faribault County, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Mayo Hospice or donor’s choice.
Louis was born October 12, 1924 to Joseph and Minnie (Schultz) Staloch. Louis attended 3 different country schools in Walnut Lake and Minnesota Lake Townships. He then went to Wells for his high school graduation. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1948. Louis managed the liquor store in Easton then started farming in 1948 and retired from farming in 1998. He co-founded SBS Construction with Greg Scheid and Galen Braunshausen and did carpentry work with Ed Osmundson for many years. He worked the Minnesota State Fair for over 30 years.
Louis married the love of his life, Marvel Schuster on June 12, 1951. He and Marvel loved to go square dancing, they also went tobogganing with the square dance bunch and included Father Duellman. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and a 75-year member of American Legion Post #569 in Easton. He loved to go fishing with any and all of his family. He loved playing cards and as well but his failing eyesight later in life slowed him. He proudly went to as many sporting events that his children and grandchildren participated in. Louis and Marvel were very big supporters of the Catholic Schools in Easton and Wells. He also loved bowling with the men in Wells and in Winnebago.
Louis is preceded in death by his wife Marvel; his daughter Sheila Schmidt; daughter-in-law, LaRue Staloch; son-in-law, Vern Heise; his parents; brothers: Edward (Marjorie) and Roman (Vernice); sisters: Catherine (Tony) Zimney, Dorothy (Bernard) Landsteiner, Elizabeth (Leo) Chicos, Marie (Felix) Zimney; mother and father-in-law: Florence and Jack Schuster; brothers-in-law: Marv (Pat) Schuster and Bonnie Schuster.
Louis is survived by his son Craig Staloch and friend Barb Kunz of Minnesota Lake, daughters: Margo Latusek and Gayle Heise of Easton; grandsons: Derek (Jill) Staloch of Jordan, MN, Aaron (Krista) Staloch of Orono, MN, Kyle (Katie) Staloch of Jordan, MN; Chad (Kari) Colby of Waconia, MN and John (Sarah) Heise of Alden, MN; Cody (Alyssa) Latusek of Harrisburg, SD; granddaughters: Krystle (Brandon) Wood of Apple Valley, MN, Shelby (Jeff) Jensrud of Hampton, MN and Cassidy (Bennet) Baker of Rochester; 11 great grandchildren: Sophia, Ben, Morgan, Jordan, Riley, Addison and Jack; Emersyn, James, Austin and Wyatt; son-in-law, Bryan Schmidt of Northfield, MN; sister-in-law, Annette Schuster of Easton, MN, along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

So Sorry to hear of Your Dad’s passing.. He was a Great Easton Legion Member and Bowling Partner of Denny’s and they always enjoyed the late nights afterwards at The Legion/The Club back in the days !!!
