David J. Nichols, Jr. was born March 30, 1965, the only son of David J. Sr., and Betty (Davenport) Nichols in Warren, Michigan. David started working at the young age of 8 years old for his dads CNC Shop. He also did some DJ’ing. After his dad passed away, David briefly took over Nichols Precision Tooling in Madison Heights, MI. He married his beloved wife Tanya Lyn Bode in Clinton Township, MI, on June 17, 2008, and he relocated to Minnesota. He most recently worked as a CNC machinist at Bosch in Owatonna, MN. Dave enjoyed most: time spent with his family, especially his grandbaby-Addy. He loved movies (anything Star Trek or Marvel). He also loved star-gazing with the love of his life, Tanya.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father David J. Nichols, Sr.; and his mother-in-law, Linda Marie (Hopp) Bode.
He is survived by his wife Tanya Nichols of Minn. Lake, MN; son David (Tiffany) Nichols and their daughter, Addy of New Ulm, MN; step-son, Dustin Jeremiah Stern of Wells; Mother Betty Nichols of Clinton Township, MI; 3 Sisters: JoAnn (Jeff) Goode of Crose Point Woods, MI, Judy (David) Fenech of Ft. Myers, FL, Karen Drummond of Sterling Heights, MI, Tammy (Rob) Nelson of Utica, MI; Father-in-law, Gerald Bode of Eagle Lake, MN, brother-in-law, Benjamin Bode of Eagle Lake, MN, along with many beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and their families.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Minnesota Lake Ambulance relief fund.
One of Dave’s favorite songs was Ride Captain Ride by Blues Image. That song has a line: “We’re callin’ everyone to ride along to another shore, where we can laugh our lives away and be free once more.” Dave is now free at last. Free from cancer, free from pain, free in the eternal arms of his Savior. Praise God that at the lowest point in his life, someone gave him a Bible, which he read from Genesis to Revelation 5 times. Somewhere in those inspired words, he met Jesus. Because he accepted Jesus’ gift of forgiveness, he now has eternal life and eternal freedom. Miss you brother.
