Karen F. Brown, age 82, of Rochester, formerly of Wells, MN died at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview, MN on Monday, August 19, 2024. Visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00pm, at St. Casimir Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior (1:00pm-2:00pm) to the service with Father Pratap Reddy Salibindla officiating. Burial will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells. Family prefers memorials to Mayo Hospice or to donor’s choice.

Karen was born March 21, 1942 in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Dulas) Schimek. Karen graduated from Good Council High School in Mankato and was united in marriage to Allan Brown on September 18, 1965 in Easton, MN. Allen taught Karen how to golf and they enjoyed traveling in their RV meeting new people.

She was very creative and enjoyed doing home renovations. She was an original DIYer before it was cool. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and was very active in her children and grandchildren’s lives.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

Karen is survived by her children: sons Lance (Bridgett Steele) of Kernersville, NC and Marc (Kellie Paquette) of Wilmington, NC, daughter Jennifer (Jeffrey) Schoenfelder of Rochester, MN; 7 grandchildren: Jayden, Tyler and wife Samantha, Krista (fiancé Greg Borst), Samantha (fiancé Eric Markwardt), Joel, Cassidy, and Grace; great grand-daughter Harriet; sister Marlene Aloisio of Gillette, WY; brothers, Maury (Janet) Schimek of Easton, MN, and Quentin (Mary) Schimek of New Ulm, MN; two  sister’s in-law Kay (Joe) Fogarty of Burnsville, MN, Jean (Bill) Paul of Dallas, TX;  along with several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allan (2020), in-laws, Frank and Leona Brown; and brothers, Henry M. and James Schimek.
