Marian Louise Pearson, born on March 1, 1928, in Rural Wells, MN to Gustav and Lovella (Grunzke) Rauschenberger. Marian lived a long and full life during her incredible 96 and a half years. Marian attended country school in Minnesota Lake township. She was united in marriage to Reed D. Pearson in October of 1948. Marian was the proud mother of two sons, Trent and Scott. In the early years of marriage, they moved their young family back to the Rauschenberger family farm to continue farming crops and raising livestock. Followed by her role as a seamstress at Brett’s department store in Mankato until her retirement. Her legacy continues through her children; Trent (Gloria) Pearson of New Ulm, MN, and Scott (Kris) Pearson of Good Thunder, MN; grandchildren: Cole (Amy) Pearson of Plymouth, Mn, Cody (Larisa) Pearson of Sartell, MN, Regan (Alexa) Pearson of Mankato, MN and Paige (Robert) Umhoefer of Mankato, MN; as well as her ten great-grandchildren: Gavin and Miles Pearson, Lincoln and Austin Pearson, Lovella, Amelia and Dean Pearson, Reed, Henry and Charlotte Umhoefer. Along with former daughter-in-law, Valerie Pearson of Mankato, MN.
A strong-willed and beautiful woman, Marian’s personality shone through her love for cooking and sewing, often bringing family and friends together with her home cooked meals. Her impact on the lives of others was profound; she showed her love by caring for others and her willingness to help anyway she could on the farm.
A lifelong resident of the area, Marian cherished her time living on the farm, where she embraced her independence and a strong connection to nature and animals. Over the years her love for animals never wavered, from the horses, dogs and many cats that she raised. To the deer and other wildlife that made her yard their home. She fed and took care of them all. She had automatic bird feeders right outside her picture window to watch the birds. She would never let the bird baths or feeders even get remotely close to empty. In her later years, when she couldn’t take care of them all on her own, there were many calls to her loved ones to “remember to get bird seed” or “you need to come down to the farm to fill the feeders today”. Some days you had to wonder if she loved those animals just a little more than you.
Marian was a lifelong member of Saint Paul’s Church of Christ, rural Minnesota Lake, where she was honored to be the oldest living member prior to her passing. She lived at home, on the farm where she was born, until the very end, a testament to her fierce independence and determination.
Marian leaves behind a loving family who will remember her fondly and celebrate the cherished memories created over the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Doris, and husband Reed. Along with many other family members and friends.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom Trent and Scott. Thinking of you all. I am unable to come due to a doctors appointment! but am keeping you in my prayers!
Marian was a cherished member of our congregation at St Paul’s Church of Christ. Thank you to her family for sharing your precious Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her memories will live on with her brother’s and sister’s in Christ.
Like the Red Cardinal that visits at the feeder, reminding us of loved ones who have been called home, Marian will return in our memory and stories to be told, long after she has taken her own final journey to reconnect with her family and loved ones. She is free as a bird, flying with the angels. May peaceful thoughts lift your spirits as you celebrate Marian’s release from an earthly existence.
Trent and Scott. Sorry to hear about your mom passing away. I know how hard it is. My thoughts are with you guys. Chuck Clarke
You are all nestled gently in our thoughts. May pleasant memories bring comfort.
My Deepest Sympathy to Trent, Scott and their families. Marian was a wonderful lady, I will never forget her kindness when I was just a small child while being her neighbor
