Sharon was born December 4, 1946 to John and Norma (Nichols) Elmer. Sharon was united in marriage to Dale Lacher on March 6, 1965 in Wells, MN. In her youth, she enjoyed her summers with her grandparents and numerous cousins at their resort on Mille Lacs Lake. She graduated from Wells-Easton High School. Sharon worked as a waitress in Albert Lea at the Starlight Café and the craft store in town. She also helped out at the daycare with her good friend, Trudie Keltgen, and worked many summers at the canning factory in the sample room in Wells.

Sharon enjoyed being very active as Den Mother for both of her sons, Mark and Craig. Sharon was very proud of Mark’s years in law enforcement and Craig’s service in the United States Marine Corps. She rarely missed any sporting events involving her kids and grandkids. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts of many styles, which included her hosting her own craft sale in her own garage.

She also enjoyed reading, listening to Elvis, game shows, the Hallmark Channel and watching all Minnesota sports. One highlight every year was the annual family vacation to Lake Winnibigoshish (Beckers Resort). As her health declined, she enjoyed her many visits with her grandkids and family and friends. Sharon always made a point to include extended family in everything including many visits with Bob and Sharon Jackson (Katie’s parents) and creating and celebrating family traditions with the Lackey’s.

A special thank-you to the staff with Mayo Hospice for the comfort and care they provided for Sharon.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Dale; her parents; and brother, William Elmer.

Sharon is survived by two sons: Mark (Michelle) Lacher of Wells; Craig (Katie) Lacher of Mankato; grandchildren: Jade (Aspen); Taylor (Collin); Sydney (significant other, Trevor); Jackson (significant other, Gail); Lainey; brother, David (Jan) Elmer of Hermosa, SD; and many nieces and nephews. She was very excited about the news of the upcoming arrival of her first great-grandchild, baby Foley.
