Junior Korn, age 91 of Walters, MN passed away Friday, November 1st, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Care Center “The Woodlands” in Albert Lea, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, November 10th, 2024 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN and will continue one hour prior (1:00-2:00pm) to the service at church. The funeral service will be Monday, November 11th, 2024 at 2:00pm at United Lutheran Church in Walters, MN with Reverend Don Rose officiating. Burial will be in Walters Cemetery.
Reinhold V. Korn Jr. “Junior” was born February 3, 1933 in Albert Lea, MN to Reinhold B. and Dorothy (Wright) Korn. Junior married Harriet M. Haukoos on June 20, 1954 in Faith Lutheran Church of Walters, MN. He was a foreman at ADA and ran the shipping warehouse, he worked at Streaters in Albert Lea and he was a custodian at Bricelyn and Kiester Schools and drove school bus too. He enjoyed fishing, making beautiful woodworks. He was very punctual and was rarely late. He fixed broken things as soon as he could and he was not one to put tasks off. He was a member of United Lutheran Church and was a head usher for many years and he treasured his church and time with Pastor Rose.
Junior loved everything John Deere and teased those who had red equipment. He only missed farming of Yesteryear this past year. He was interested in farming, tractors and more tractors, visiting with the neighbors, following the crops and rural happenings. He loved to travel with Harriet and his family; every summer there was a trip planned. He had so much love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his family. He was blessed to have his home and loved to keep his yard immaculate.
Junior is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Wilma (Charles) Dunbar, Luvern (Ethel) Korn, Marie (Melvin) Stern, Millie (Max) Knudtson and Evelyn Peterson; father and mother-in-law: Harold and Mayme (Fethke) Haukoos; brother-in-law, Clyde Cole.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Harriet of Walters, MN; children: Curt (Lorie) Korn of Kiester, MN; Charlotte (Dale) Elvebak of Albert Lea, MN; grandchildren: Rachel Keuseman (husband Jordan), Spencer Elvebak (wife Amber), Jeremy Korn (wife Karissa Schwecke); great-grandchildren: Ethan, Blake and Ava Keuseman; Gretta, Jett and Millie Elvebak; sisters- in- law: Edith Cole, Elaine (Richard) Cole, Marlene (Gary) Kauffmann and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of hearing ‘Good morning Sunshine!’ everyday when I got on the bus as a child. What a kind man!
