Born October 29, 1929 in Blue Earth, Minnesota to Albert and Victoria Germann, Harold grew up on the family farm, working alongside his father in Wells, Minnesota. Known for being “farmer strong,” he was a hard worker, generous, and a man of few words. Harold approached life with humility, resilience, and a kind heart. After completing his service in the army in Korea, he returned to the family farm, embracing the life of a farmer with dedication and pride. In 1959, Harold married Joan Marie Walker, and together they adopted their children, Jeff and Nancy, completing the family they treasured
Life on the farm saw Harold raising pigs, a few cows, and sheep, along with tending to their crops. As the demands of farming lessened, Harold began a new venture as a rural mail carrier, a role that connected him with the community he loved. In 1999, Harold and Joan moved to Sauk Rapids, where they embraced a new chapter along the Mississippi River. There, Harold found great joy in sharing “river life” with friends and family. But he most especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren, who created countless memories swimming, boating, jet-skiing, and fishing.
Harold is survived by his son, Jeff Germann (Holly) of Andover, MN; his daughter, Nancy Kohls (Perry) of Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Quinn Germann (Maddie), Keegan Germann, Zach Kohls, Abby Levercom (Kevin); his cherished great-granddaughters, Hadley and Rylynn Levercom and his sister Charlene Wenthold of Pueblo, CO.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Germann, his sister Janice Lindahl and his parents.
Deepest sympathy to the family.
