Charles Albert Hueper, age 96 of Mankato, MN (formerly Wells, MN) passed away Thursday, November 28th, 2024. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 5th at 11:00 am at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will start 1 hour prior to the service (10:00am-11:00am) with Pastor Timothy Sharp officiating.
Charles was born to Emil and Emma (Renkly) Hueper on July 27th, 1928 in Faribault Co. Minnesota. He attended school in Minnesota Lake, MN and went on to farm with his father.
Charles loved his farm and was very proud of his land. He began farming at the early age of 13 because his dad was ill. He raised pigs and chickens as well as farming the land. Later he was joined in the farming operation with his son Richard. It was very important to him that the farm land stayed in his family.
He met the love of his life and married Shirley Olson December 7, 1952. They were married 71 years. Charles was drafted into the Army in 1953. He proudly served his country until his younger twin brothers joined the Military and he needed to come back and farm due to his dad’s illness. Chuck was very proud of his military service and became very active in the local Legion post. Chuck and Shirley raised 6 children on their farm. They moved to town in 1988.
Charles loved to hunt. He was a great marksman and told many stories about his adventures with his brothers, friends, and sons. He enjoyed spear fishing trips with his friends, vacationing to Florida to visit his sister and brother-in-law, and many other vacations with Shirley.
Chuck’s most favorite thing, was to talk to people. He would strike up a conversation with anyone and talk as long as time allowed.
Charles is survived by his daughter Ann Hueper; sons: Layne Hueper, Richard (Lori) Hueper, Marcus (Sarah) Hueper, Jay (Stephannie) Hueper, and Troy Hueper; Grandchildren: Danielle (Rob), Mikel (Mario), Darrin (Katie), Karlie, Leah, Nicholas, Emery, Parker, and Lincoln; great-grandchildren: Sophia, Mario Jr., Maci, Riley, Roy, Mariah, Jaxson, and Marley.
