William “Bill” Orbell, age 85, died December 14, 2024, in the Mapleton Community Home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024 from 10:00 -11:00 am at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells. A memorial service will start at 11:00 AM at Nasinec Funeral Home with Pastor Don Rose officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells.
Bill was born Feb. 14, 1939, a Valentines baby to his parents John B. and Alma L. (Ward) Orbell on the family farm near Mapleton, MN. Bill graduated from Wells Easton High School, the class of 1957. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Bill came back to the area and worked as a mechanic. He was united in marriage to Marvel Ann Neubauer on May 22, 1965 and to this union two daughters were born, Anne and Susie. The couple lived in Wells until moving to the country in rural Freeborn, MN.
Bill loved to ride his motorcycle. Mowing his lawn and keeping the yard kept him busy. He always found time to travel and going on adventures with Marvel. He enjoyed a good hunting trip. He liked watching Western shows and movies on TV. He especially enjoyed family time with his children and their families.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary, Marvels parents; brothers-in-law: Bob Roessler, Bub Kennard, and Lyle Neubauer; sisters-in-law: Marian Meyer and Doris Kennard; and a grandson, Josh Pederson.
He is survived by his wife Marvel Orbell of Mapleton, MN; 2 daughters, Anne (Paul) Giese of Wells, Susie (Jeff) Stenzel of Lakeville, MN; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Aoltie Roessler of Mankato, MN; brother Tim (Mary) Orbell of Wells, along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
Marvel, Anne and Susie, so very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was a very special person and will be missed by many. I was always fun to visit with him he could always make you laugh. Hugs to you all and god bless you all.
