Pamela J. Kauffmann, age 74 of Wells, MN, passed away after a battle with Leukemia on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells and will resume one-hour prior (9:30am-10:30am) to the funeral at church. The funeral service will be Friday, January 31, 2025 at Peace Church in Minnesota Lake at 10:30am. Pastor Rachael Morrison will officiate. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at The Orange Door in Minnesota Lake.
She was born in Fairmont, MN the daughter of Frederick and Inez (Fellerson) Kahl and lived on a farm outside of Huntley, MN. The family moved around a bit during her elementary days living in Mapleton and Minnesota Lake. During her middle school years, she moved to Springfield, Illinois. During her high school years, the family moved to Wells where she graduated with the class of 1968. After graduation, she moved to the Twin Cities and started work with American Linen. She married James Kauffmann on March 22, 1969; after he came back from the service. They started their married life together in the Twin Cities. In 1973 they moved back to Wells where they have lived for over 50 years.
Pam worked numerous waitress jobs, at Blue Coach and at Del Monte; and for over 30 years at Parkview Care Center in Wells. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past President of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post 1778 of Wells.
Pam was involved in numerous activities throughout her life which included bowling, crocheting, card clubs, fishing, puzzles, watching her favorite sports teams, especially the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings. She enjoyed watching the birds outside the big picture window and working her flower garden. She loved being with her grandkids playing games and watching their school events. Most of all she loved to read!
Preceded in death by her daughter; parents; and granddaughter Ashley.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Kauffmann of Wells; her children: Beth (Scott) Johnson of Sabastian, FL, Eric (Jena) Kauffmann of New Ulm, MN, Kereen Johannsen and Craig Kauffmann, both of Wells; her grandchildren: Josh Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Danielle Johannsen, Brianna Kauffmann, Erika Johannsen, Aaron (AJ) Kauffmann, and Asher Kauffmann; along with her sisters Sandy Mosser and Dawn (Robert) Mellin; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

I’m so sorry for you family’s loss. I think I saw Pam almost once a week for the last 8 years at the library. I enjoyed getting to know her. I will miss her visiting and our little chats.
It’s rotten stuff to go through. But memories and stories are healing and they help you get through this.
