Larry G. Reinlasoder, age 85 of Walters, MN passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 unexpectedly at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Austin. A memorial service will be held, Friday February 7, 2025 at United Lutheran Church of Walters at 11am. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service (10-11am) at the church in Walters. The service will be officiated by Pastor Don Rose with burial at United Lutheran Cemetery in Walters and Military Honors will be by Kiester Legion Post #454.
Larry George Reinlasoder was born August 24, 1939 to Henry and Arvilla (Sauer) Reinlasoder in Albert Lea, MN. He graduated from Kiester High School in 1957, joined the United States Marine Corps, and was later honorably discharged. He married Diane Schmitt July 24, 1965 in Walters, MN. Larry enjoyed a good card game, going out for breakfast, and his daily happy hour at Kiester Legion. He was a member of United Lutheran Church, served on the church council, at the Walters Volunteer Fire Department, Kiester American Legion Post #454, and Wells VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Charles and Mabel Schmitt; sisters: Beverly Lium, Nancy Sitzman; son in law Tom DeLong; and beloved pets Molly, Connor, and Chloe.
Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane; children: Wendy DeLong, Nonna (Ron) Goin, Shane (Jean) Reinlasoder; grandchildren: Crystal (Jamie) Lahr, Tina O’Rourke, Zack (Katy) DeLong, Meghan Holtz, Danielle (Terry) Johnson, Presley Goin, Derek Rohlfing; great-grandchildren: Charlie and Maya Lahr; JT O’Rourke; Lucy DeLong; Cole and Levi Johnson; sister Monica (Randy) Steinhauer; brother-in-law David Sitzman; sisters-in-law: Jeanette Lenort, Violet Meyer, and Vickie Schmitt; and many nieces and nephews.
