Lee Johnson, age 80, of Bricelyn, MN passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 17, 2025, at Bricelyn Lutheran Church with a visitation starting at 1:00pm and the funeral service to start at 2:00pm. Pastor Peg Marose will officiate the service and burial will be in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery, Seely Twp., Faribault Co, MN. In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Bricelyn Fire Relief Association, the Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery association or to the donor’s choice.
Lee was born November 21, 1944, in Buffalo Center, IA to Gehard and Vivian (Olson) Johnson. He was part of the first confirmation class at the new Bricelyn Lutheran Church and lit the 1st candle in the new church. He graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1962. He was united in marriage to Sharyl Hamson June 19, 1965, and to this union they welcomed three children.
Over the years he worked for Johnnie Frerichs Trucking, Bricelyn Elevator Association (WFS) and worked part time for Johnson Farms of Bricelyn for many years. He was a member of the Bricelyn Fire Department for over 20 years. In his free time, he enjoyed making harnesses for miniature draft horses, tractor pulling and fishing trips to Lake of the Woods. He was a lifetime member of Bricelyn Lutheran Church and enjoyed ushering at services.
Lee is preceded in death by his son Bradley; his parents; sister Francine Meier; in-laws August and Ruth Hamson; best friend Bruce Grev and many other family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Sharyl of Bricelyn; children: Shane Johnson of Bricelyn, Allison Johnson (Scott Wachal) of St. Peter; grand dogs Ted and Barrett; siblings: Jan (Marv) Reinartz of Phoenix, AZ and Martin Johnson of Rochester, MN; sisters-in-law: Alice Braund of Kiester, MN, Catherine Oldfather of Blue Earth and Judy Hamson of Frost, MN; brothers-in-law: Roger (Pat) Hamson of Kiester, MN and Rich Hamson of Golden Valley, MN.
