Bernice was born June 18, 1928, a daughter of John Edward and Emma S. (Albrecht) Boeck on the homestead in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, MN. She was baptized July 2, 1928, and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith on March 29, 1942. She attended country school. Bernice was united in marriage to Edward B. Lenort on January 31, 1956. The couple moved to Wells in 1967 and farmed while living in town until 1997, when the couple retired from farming. Bernice enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time outdoors, mowing the lawn, tending her garden and planting flowers. She also enjoyed driving her red pickup truck, and missed the farm very much. Bernice was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN.
Bernice is survived by her nephews Dean (Donna) Sonnek, and Jerold (Kathy) Sonnek, and their families, along with many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward (2006), two brothers, Alfred “Bud” Boeck and Harry Boeck, and two sisters, Esther (Claude D.) Wertman and Marian (Jerome) Sonnek.
She was like a Mother to me, always seemed to keep me busy with trimming bushes, washing windows and other odd jobs. She always liked it when I would sit down and chat. She was truly a sweet person
