Margaret Ewert, age 97, of Waldorf, MN, died Saturday, April 12, 2025, at MCHS-Mankato. A funeral service will be held at First Lutheran Church of Waldorf, MN on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:30 am with Pastor Larry Sipe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church; burial will be in First Luteran Church Cemetery of Waldorf, MN.

Margaret was born May 7, 1927 in Waldorf, the daughter of Carl and Marie (Radtke) Bleck.  She was baptized by Rev. Rapp at Zoar’s UCC Church.  She graduated from Waldorf High School, and attained her RN Degree in Nursing and worked at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea prior to her marriage.

Margaret was united in marriage to Lavern Ewert on September 19, 1948 at Zoar’s UCC Church in rural Waldorf. Margaret was active in the Waldorf American Legion Auxiliary and First Lutheran Church Ladies Aide. She had worked as a clerk in the Waldorf Post Office for many years.  Her many talents included knitting, hardanger, and quilting. She enjoyed gardening and loved tending to her flowers. An avid card player, she enjoyed many games with her family.

She is survived by her children: Becky (Francis) Pfeffer of Albert Lea, Rex (Kris) Ewert of Marine on St. Croix, Mary (David) Ewert-Knodell of Becker, MN, and Steven Lai (partner of Danny Ewert) of Mpls; eight grandchildren: Jerod Pfeffer (Sage Hibberd), Amy (Jan) Pfeffer Madsen, Chaise Ewert Meyer (Joe Meyer), Alex Knodell (Stella Makarona), Claire (Fredrik) Jansson Knodell, Brooke (Brandon) Tagtow,  Gunnar (Hannah) Ewert, Paige Ewert; nine great-grandchildren: Reece & Lily Meyer; Salina & Ella Pfeffer Madsen; Elaina Pfeffer; Aurora & Celeste Jansson-Knodell; August Ewert; and Adriana Knodell.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lavern Ewert (2012), two sons, Lanny Ewert and Danny Ewert.
