Shirley Ann Schuster was born January 23, 1942, to Edward and Dorothy Schmoll (Schwamberger), and passed away

peacefully on May 8th, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 83. She was the oldest of three children and is survived

by her siblings Mary Rylance (Bob) and Tom Schmoll (Karen). Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-

grandmother whose kind heart touched all who knew her.

Shirley grew up on a farm near Norseland, MN for part of her childhood and later attended Nicollet High School. During

her high school years, she was honored as the Nicollet County Dairy Princess. After graduation, she pursued a degree in

bookkeeping at Mankato Commercial College and went on to work at the Blue Earth County Road Department.

In 1962, Shirley met the love of her life, Albert Schuster, at the Kato Ballroom. They were married in 1964 and made their

home on a farm near Freeborn, Minnesota, where they spent the next 61 years together farming and raising livestock, and

owning a repair shop and used car business. Together, they raised three children: Joanie Davis (Ron Jacobsen) Freeborn,

MN, Terri Oglesby (Shawn) Sartell, MN, and Susie Studier (Casey) Albert Lea, MN. Shirley embraced the role of a farm

wife and found great joy in gardening, canning, cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing and most of all, in being a loving wife,

mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially treasured time spent with her family. She was always someone

that family and friends could count on.

She is survived by many friends and family, including seven grandchildren: Hillary Miller (Tom), Nate Stenzel (Karissa),

Kelsey Kellner (Nick), Mariah Perry (Ben), Dylan Studier (Kalie), Aidan Oglesby, and Mason Studier; and five great-

grandchildren: Britta, Callen, McKenzie, James, and Beau.

Shirley will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Her spunky personality, warmth, and wit brought joy to every room she entered — and her legacy of love, laughter, and

resilience will live on in those who knew her best.
