Marvel A. Orbell, age 81 formerly of Freeborn, MN died Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11am with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service (10am-11am). Father Pratap Reddy Salibindla will be officiating, and burial will follow the service in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells.
Marvel Ann was born January 17, 1944 to Leonard and Kathryn (Whalen) Neubauer. She attended St. Casimir Catholic School and graduated from Wells-Easton High School in 1962. She went on to work at Northwest Bank. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Orbell on May 22, 1965 and to this union two daughters were born. The couple lived in Wells until moving to the country in rural Freeborn, MN. Marvel retired from Wells Fargo after 50 years.
Family meant everything to Marvel. She was a hard worker but in her free time, you could find her in the bleachers attending various activities for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching Minnesota sports teams, playing cards, baking and traveling with Bill. She was a lifelong member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, she was in the CCW at St. Casimir, and she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill (Dec. 2024); her parents; Bills parents; siblings: Lyle Neubauer, Marian Meyer and Doris (Bub) Kennard; brothers in law, Bob Roessler and Gary Orbell; and grandson, Josh Pederson.
Marvel is survived by her two children: Anne (Paul) Giese of Wells, MN and Susie (Jeff) Stenzel of Lakeville, MN; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister in law, Aoltie Roessler of Mankato, MN; brother in law, Tim (Mary) Orbell of Wells, MN; along with many other nieces, nephews and their families.
