Michael Gene Haase, age 60, of Blue Earth, MN died Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home in Blue Earth, MN.  A Celebration of Mike’s life will be Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, MN, with Father Andrew Beerman officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church Hall.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Blue Earth, MN.

Michael Gene was born January 13, 1961 in Winnebago, MN, the youngest son of Howard and Phyllis (Wood) Haase.  He married the love of his life, Julie Ascheman in Easton, MN on August 23, 1980.  Together they were blessed with two daughters who he was deeply proud of.  Mike shared his passion of sports with his girls, spending some of his best days at the ballfield as a family.  He was also a life-long Twins and Vikings fan.  Win or lose, they were still his favorite teams.  Above all, he cherished his family and grandchildren.  Many people loved him for his kind, caring heart and sense of humor.  He was always looking to make others laugh.

Mike’s life journey was not always easy.  His family has hope that he has now found the gift of freedom and peace.

Michael is survived by his wife Julie of Blue Earth, MN; 2 daughters: Erin (Keith) Jones of Hudson, WI, and Allison (Dennis) Paul of Mankato, MN; 6 grandchildren:  Evan, Dylan and Avery Jones; Evelyn, Olivia and Eli Paul; 2 brothers: Jim Haase (Dalene Hanson) of Blue Earth, MN, Rick (Karen) Haase of Easton, MN; 2 sisters: Cathi Douglas of Delavan, MN, Cindy (Kent) O’Grady of Baxter, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law: Doug (Lynn) Ascheman of Easton, MN, Steve (Derek Leighton) Ascheman of Austin, TX, LuAnn Ascheman-Adams (Glenn Hagfors) of North Mankato, MN, Sheila (Ron) Osmundson of Delavan, MN, Denise (Tom) Whitehead of Brainerd, MN, Jim (Patti) Ascheman of Minnetonka, MN; many nieces and nephews and their families.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Roy Douglas.
