Raymond D. Becker, age 83, of Minnesota Lake, MN died Thursday March 17, 2022 at MCHS in Mankato, MN. A public visitation will be held Thursday March 24, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN (789 Business Park Drive Wells, MN). Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Peace United Church of Christ in Minnesota Lake, MN.  Please join the family for a visitation and fellowship (meal) starting at 12:30 PM at church. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery in Minnesota Lake, MN with Rev. Brian Fragodt officiating.

     Raymond was born October 4, 1938 on his grandparent’s farm in Danville Township, Blue Earth Co., MN, the son of Albert and Evelyn (Beyer) Becker.  Ray attended 8 years of country school and 4 years of high school.  He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, the class of 1956.  Ray joined the National Guard in Mankato and served from 1956-1964.  Ray was united in marriage to his classmate Carol Thompson in 1958.  They raised three children, LaRae, Bobby, and Brent.  Ray farmed with his dad from 1958-1992.  Ray purchased Lyle’s Grocery and also did custom butchering and processing 1969-1992.  As you can see, Ray kept busy.  His wife Carol managed Ray’s Grocery.

Ray enjoyed fishing, spearing, golf, sports on TV, snowmobiling.  He enjoyed playing cribbage at Fisher’s corner bar with his buddies.  He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     Ray stayed involved-Creamery Board, School Board, Church Council President, church building committee, community club, 26 years on the Fire Department, Lions Club, 40 plus years as American Legion member.

     Ray’s wife Carol passed away in 1989 at age 51.  Ray remarried Neda (Noer) Thompson in 1992.  Neda had 5 children: Lonnie, Donita, Tommy, Jon and Terriane.

     Ray is survived by his children: LaRae (Jim) Bisel of Mankato, Bobby (Kathy) Becker of Minnesota Lake, and Brent (Malia) Becker of Bay Minette, AL; 6 grandchildren: Brady, Brittany, Tanner, McCall, Kelsi and London; 6 great-grandchildren: Graham, Evelyn, Stella, Sawyer, Harrison and Blakely.  Ray is also survived by 4 step-children: Lonnie (Patti) Thompson of Crown Point, IN, Donita (Robert) Henry of Lexington, KY, Jon Thompson of Mankato, and Terriane (Charlie) Traynor of Minnesota Lake, MN; 11 step-grandchildren: Matthew, Kate, Libbie, Lauren, Samantha, Paula, Heather, Jessica, Melissa, Sarah, and Marie; plus 16 step great-grandchildren.

     Ray is preceded in death by his parents, wives Carol and Neda; step-son Tom; sisters-in-law, Correan, Darlene, Helen, June, and Rosabelle; brothers-in-law, Lloyd, Cy, Doyne, Donald, and Jesse.
