Kathryn “Katy” Ann Holway, age 89, of Wells, MN died Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church (10:00-11:00 AM). Officiating will be Father Greg Havel with a private burial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mayo Clinic Hospice in memory of Kathryn. Kathryn “Katy” Ann Rathai was born December 29, 1932 in Wells, MN to John W Rathai and Lela Anna (Keyes) Rathai. She married the love of her life Bernard W Holway on November 24, 1953 in Wells, MN. Katy loved to dance, cook, complete word puzzles, and spend time with her family and friends. Katy made friends easily and was adored by very special caregivers at Parkview Care Center. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and the Wells VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Katy is survived by her two sons: Leslie (Les) Holway and wife Melissa, Scott Holway and wife Maggie; grandchildren: Christopher (Dianna), Dana and Mitchell: great-grandchildren Landon, Danielle and Zachery; great-great grandchildren: Emery and Asher; her sister Jean Chappel of Phoenix, AZ. and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Budach, brothers: Jim Rathai, Don Rathai and Kenneth Rathai, and grandson Jacob Dacus.
Scott, Maggie, Les and the whole Holway family, Katie was such a special lady and a dear friend to me! Hugs to all. Fly High Katy! And please watch over us all!
