Hazel Petersen, age 82, of Bricelyn, MN died Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at North Blue Earth Lutheran Church in Bricelyn, MN.  A Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kristin Venne officiating.      Hazel was born February 10, 1940, the daughter of Oliver and Frieda (Heinrich) Thompson in Frost, MN.  She was married to Gary Petersen and he proceeded her in death. Hazel had two children. She worked at Telex for many years and had her own upholstery business called “Hazel’s Upholstery”.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and being with her family, grand-daughters, great-granddaughters and their families. Hazel was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Bricelyn, MN.

     She is survived by her children, David Childs of Blue Earth, MN and Dawn Owen of Hastings, MN; her granddaughters: Brittany (Matt) Carstensen of Hastings, MN, Krista (Lucas) Armstrong of Maple Grove, MN, and Tiffany Owen (Samantha LaShomb) of Hastings, MN, great-granddaughters; Addisen, Macey, Monroe and Lennon, sisters; Elizabeth “Liz” (Arnie) Frerichs of Indianapolis, IN, Doris Evans (Carrol) of Owatonna, MN and Karen (Bill) McCleary of Cuba City, WI., along with several nieces, nephews, grand-dogs and their families.

     Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Gary, parents, sister, Shirley (Bud) Underbakke, and brother, Burton Thompson.
