Emily M. (Rader) Minkel, age 86, of Mapleton, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, August 22, 2023 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Father Swaminatha (Swamy) Pothireddy officiating at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Monday August 28 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at the Church.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Emily was born June 8, 1937, a daughter to George and Rachel (DeRemer) Rader in Mapleton, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton, MN. Emily was united in marriage to Donald F. Minkel, June 25, 1955 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton. She was a lifelong Mapleton resident, she met her husband Donald there and the rest is history. She was a faithful member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. She was a “fixture” at the Hardware Store in Mapleton, having worked there for many years. She loved working there and visiting with the customers. Emily loved being active with family and was always ready for an adventure. She loved bingo and playing games with her family. She had a wonderful journey.

Emily is survived by three children: Roberta “Bert” Stenzel of Waseca, MN, Gregory (Deb) Minkel of Chaska, MN, and Kathleen (Roger) Runge of Amboy, MN; grandchildren: Jason (Lisa) Stenzel of Waseca, MN, Amanda (Rich) Honstad of Waseca, MN, Joshua (Kait) Stenzel of Savage, MN, and Joseph (Tiffany) Stenzel of Savage, MN; great-grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Myles and Henry; Morgan, Alexander, Owen, Mason, and Olivia; Aria; and Donivon and Avery; sister-in-law Gen Besser of Wells, MN; along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.

She is preceded in death by her husband Don (2006); siblings: Lola (Les) Johnston, James (Lorrie) Rader, and Ruth (Loren) Cumming; and son-in-law John Stenzel.
