Geneva (Jenny, “Red”) Cory, age 74, died on August 25, 2023, at The Beacon in Mapleton, MN, after a long illness.  A private service will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery on October 7, 2023. A celebration of life will follow for family and friends at the Bricelyn American Legion in Bricelyn, MN, from 12-4 p.m. Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells is entrusted with arrangements.

Jenny was born on August 28, 1948, to Richard Lambert and Lucille Sizemore in Davy, West Virginia. She was one of ten children.

Jenny married David Koland Jr. on January 31, 1966, and they had two children, Terry Koland (Charlie Matule) and Shannon (Deacon Andy) Hardigan. David died on July 4, 1981. She lived in Butte, MT, until February 10, 1989.

Jenny moved to Minnesota on February 10, 1989, and married Richard Cory on August 9, 1999. She was stepmother to Ann Cory, Anita (John) Roberts, Jason Cory, Richard Cory, and Tom (Vicki) Cory.  She has eleven grandchildren: Brittany Cory, Erin Hardigan, Matthew Hardigan, Katherine Cory, Cody Cory, Justin Cory, Austin Anderson, Phillip Cory, Allie Cory, Alexis Cory, and Ashton Cory.

Jenny was a sweet, kind person who loved animals, nature, and her family. She was especially fond of her two cats, Weasel and Slick. She loved her job at Telex in Blue Earth, MN, and worked there for 15 years. She enjoyed being outside in the garden, camping, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Rich Cory, her children and grandchildren, two sisters, Diane O’Leary Susie Blodgett, and several nieces and nephews.
