Juanita Ethel Emilia Levine, age 82, of Kiester, MN died on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Prairie Senior Cottages in New Richland, MN. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00AM at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN with Pastor Peg Marose officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN.  Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Juanita was born in Madelia, MN. She attended schooling for nursing at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea and started her career as an RN in Madison and La Crosse, WI and ended up moving back to the area and worked at the Wells Hospital in Wells, MN until it closed. She then worked part time at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea until she retired.  Juanita married Harold Levine on November 28, 1964 and were happily married for 58 years, 11 months and 11 days. They had three children, Terri, Eric and Matthew.

She always had a crossword puzzle or a word search magazine with her. She took her role as a grandmother very seriously and attended many sporting events, musicals and plays.  Juanita loved vintage hats, gloves, and purses and would use them while throwing tea parties for all of her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She also loved to knit afghans and scarves for her family, canning and teaching her children and grandchildren how to make lefse. She was also known for her famous Chocolate Crunch Brownies, angel food cake with tang frosting and making bean soup and dressing up as a witch to hand out candy on Halloween. She absolutely loved chocolate malts, Kit Kats, Reese’s, and the small bottles of Pepsi!

Juanita is survived by her husband Harold Levine of Kiester, MN; children: Terri (Steve) Seedorf of Wells, MN, Eric (Amy) Levine, of Hutchinson, MN and Matthew (Jenny) Levine of Lake Mills, IA; grandchildren: Tiffany, Tanner (Kayla Roberts), Trinity (Perrin Finn), & Trey Seedorf, Jonathan Levine, Chance, Hope, Madison, & Claire Levine. She is preceded in death by her mother Ethel (Baumgard) Knaak and special dogs Corky and Missy.
