He attended Minnesota Lake High School, graduating as Salutatorian in 1952. Bob served in the United States Army from 1957 until his Honorable discharge in 1959. On August 21, 1962 he was united in marriage to Aoltie Orbell in Easton, and to this union 2 daughters were born: Debbie and Barbie.
Bob worked as a parts clerk for Lake Motors and became the manager of Beske Hardware in 1965 and retired in 2001. He was a member of Peace UCC, and served on many committees and boards, and had served as President of the church council. His singing will be missed by many! I’m so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing.
I worked for Bob and Aoltie at the hardware store for several years and think of them as some of the most endearing years of my younger life.
I learned a lot of life lessons working there and have always had pleasant memories of Bob and Aoltie.
Rest in peace
My condolences and sympathies to the families, & Dave & Linda. May Bob rest in peace.
My condolences and sympathies. I first got to meet Bob when I moved to Minnesota Lake for my first teaching job at Minn.Lake High school. Single guy, really like fishing , but in a NEW area of MINNESOTA! Stopped at Beske Hardware, and was met by a smile,
Hello! and instant conversation! If you can believe it, talk turned to fishing! Soon I was invited along with Milo, Marty B., and Bob for a fishing adventure to Lura Lake, the first of MANY. Guess that was the most luck a new comer could of ever asked for. NEVER , in encounters or trips or casual bump into, did Bob not make it fun. Fish fries, crawler picking or advice on “fixin”, BOB was always genuine and SO MUCH fun. Our world needs ALOT more BOBs ! I will miss hearing …TRY this spot!, or my grandkids caught…my garden is… My deep belief is that there’s a perfect walleye chop and many bites where they’re fishing now. Truly thinking of you and family.
