Shirley Hueper, age 89 of Mankato, MN formerly of Wells, MN passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at Cottagewood Assisted Living in Mankato, MN. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 from 10:00-11:00am and the service will follow at 11:00am at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN.
Shirley was born December 17, 1934 in Swea City, IA to Floyd and Doris (Meyer) Olson. Shirley graduated from Kiester High School in 1952. Shirley married Charles Hueper December 7, 1952. She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Minnesota Lake, MN. She loved her family and grandchildren. She was well known for her amazing cooking skills and made a cookbook of her favorite recipes for each of her children and grandchildren. She was the happiest when she was at her sewing machine; mending was her specialty and could fix anything. Shirley made many beautiful quilts that she shared with her family.
Shirley is survived by her husband Charles; daughter Ann Hueper; sons Layne Hueper, Richard (Lori) Hueper, Marcus (Sarah) Hueper, Jay (Stephannie) Hueper, Troy (Missie) Hueper; grandchildren Danielle (Rob), Mikel (Mario) Darrin (Katie), Karlie, Leah, Nicholas, Emery, Parker, and Lincoln; great-grandchildren Sophia, Mario Jr., Maci, Riley, Roy, Mariah, Jaxson, and Marley.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Doris (Meyer) Olson; sisters Ramona (Chuck) Jacobsen and Geraldine (Merrill) Hove.
So sorry to hear of Shirley’s passed. My deepest sympathy to the entire Family. Have many wonderful memories of Her.

I remember the great trips we took to visit grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins in Minnesota. Aunt Shirley was a great cook.
