Carol Ann Hustuft, age 83 of Mankato, MN, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Laurel’s Peak Assisted Living in Mankato, MN. Burial will be held privately with family.
Carol was born December 23, 1940 in Omaha, NE to Stanley and Helen (Gambell) Peterson. Carol graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College then went on to earn a Library Specialist degree from Mankato State University. Carol married Dean Hustuft on June 22, 1963. Together, they welcomed two children, Cheryl and Eric. Carol ended her long-time career as a librarian at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. After her retirement, she loved sewing and tending to her garden. Carol also enjoyed fishing and loved to spend time on the water.
Carol is survived by her husband Dean; daughter Cheryl (Steve) Ogg; son Eric Hustuft; grandchildren: Joseph Ogg, Jacob Ogg, Sarah Ogg, and Adam Ogg; 6 great-grandchildren; brother: Dwight (Jan) Peterson of Norfolk, NE.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Helen and brother Roger.
Dean, Cheryl and Eric: Our hearts go out to you in the loss of your wife and mother. Carol was instrumental in getting the Wells Depot Museum off to a good start. She came to Wells weekly and used her organizational skills to help us with computer programs and storage solutions. She became a great friend. I will miss her. Ross & Betsy Hermanson
