Nancy Kathleen (Dusbabek) Minks, age 91, of Burnsville, MN, passed away on August 17, 2024, at the Regent at Burnsville.

Nancy was born on May 14, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Frank and Clara (Madson) Dusbabek. Nancy grew up in Waterville, MN where her dad owned Dusbabek’s Market. Nancy graduated from Waterville High School and later attended Gustavus Adolphus College, where she met the love of her life, Stuart Minks. They were soon engaged. Stuart joined the Air Force for a four-year term and was stationed at Johnson Air Base in Iruma, Japan.

Nancy joined him a short time later, and they were married in Tokyo, Japan on June 4, 1954. Stu and Nancy both worked on the Johnson Air Base. Upon returning to the states, they moved to Minneapolis where Nancy worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Later they moved to Golden Valley and then Burnsville to be closer to Stuart’s place of work with the FAA. Upon retirement, they spent their summers living in Minnesota Lake, MN and wintering in Fort Pierce, FL. Nancy had a contagious laugh, she enjoyed singing, dancing, choir, theatre, writing, drawing, baking, eating sweets, playing piano and the ukulele.  She also had a passion for cats.

Nancy is survived by her children, Lyndon (Lisa) Minks of Hamel, MN, Andrea (Doug) Buszmann of Belle Plaine, MN and Katie (Robb) White of Burnsville, MN; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Ann Dusbabek.

A private family memorial service was held on Sunday September 8, 2024. In lieu of flowers and memorials to the family, the family asks that you donate to the ASPCA in memory of Nancy.
