Katherine “Kay” Albrecht, age 84, of Mapleton was called to her heavenly home Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato. A visitation will be from 9:00-11:00am on Monday, June 16, 2025 and the Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11:00am at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton, MN. Father Swaminatha Pothireddy will be officiating, and burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery in Mapleton, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Katherine “Kay” Ann Albrecht was born February 1, 1941 to Phillip and Iva (Littlefield) Yokiel in Wells, MN. She attended St. Casimir Catholic School and graduated from Wells High School in 1959. She received her Nurse’s Certificate from St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1960 where she worked as a nurse for several years. She married George Albrecht on February 27, 1965 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Kay helped George on the farm and together they raised two sons. Kay was especially proud of her two grandsons, having the patience to allow them to “farm” the living room carpet. Kay and George enjoyed many winters in Arizona. She was always working on a project and loved to create beautiful quilts and pieces of hardanger. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband George; her parents, brother Arthur; sister Barb (Bob) Loebner; brothers-in-law Elmer(Dorothy) Albrecht and Lester Albrecht.

Katherine is survived by her children: Alan (Linda) Albrecht and Gary Albrecht; grandchildren: Andrew (Kirsten) Albrecht and Ryan Albrecht; two great-grandchildren: Wesley and Lilah Albrecht all of Mapleton; brother Steve (Deb) Yokiel and sister-in-law Darlene Albrecht.
