Gwendolyn Ann Peterson (84), of Wells, Minnesota, made her journey home to the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2025. She transitioned peacefully in her sleep, cozy in her own bed. The family will gather to celebrate Gwen’s life on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN.
Gwen was born on June 27th, 1941, in Albert Lea, MN. Her parents were Roger and Myrtle Schroeder. Gwen was a loving wife to Milton Joseph Peterson for over 66 years. She was also a loving mother to Cory (Tammy) Peterson, grandmother to Carly (Wil) Crombie, Corrissa Peterson and Celsey Peterson, and great-grandmother to Braxton Borchardt and Hazel Crombie.
Early in her life she studied and became a nurse. Gwen, Milton and their son Cory, ran Peterson’s Tree Service together for decades. Gwen and Milt enjoyed traveling to car shows and frequently brought their grand kids with them, making many joyful memories. Gwen was an active community member. She was deeply involved in her church, teaching Sunday School and Confirmation for her grand kids and beyond. She was active in the Red Hat Society, and she wrote for an Auto Restorer’s Club for many years. Gwen and Milt were foster parents to nine foster boys together. Gwen’s favorite things were sewing, crafting, and reading. Her last few years of life she was well-loved, living with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, on their homestead near Northfield, MN.

Gwen and Milt ran an auto repair shop back in the 1960s, and for any teenager spending time downtown, their place was always open and welcoming. Gwen had a gift for treating everyone with kindness and respect, and I cherished every visit. She radiated love for people, and in return, people loved her. May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in peace.
So sorry for your loss. Your mother and dad were so nice to Pat and I when we first were married in 1970. Great memories.
