Rodney James Larson, age 78, of Easton, MN peacefully passed from this life into the arms of our Lord on February 5th, 2026. Services will be at a later date for a graveside memorial and celebration of life at Calvary Cemetery in Delavan, MN.
Rodney was born in Warren, MN on April 11, 1947, to Olga Marie and Axel Julius Larson.
Rodney was a long-time employee of Toro, working approximately 40 years before retiring from a company he was proud to be a part of.
Rodney loved working with wood. He was self-taught and an accomplished woodworker. Rodney made many pieces over the years, but he was most pleased with the completion of his walnut trunk, redwood cabinets and several work benches.
Rodney was a kind, caring, and friendly person, always willing to lend a hand to family or friends in need. He had a great sense of humor and was known for being a “fun loving” uncle!
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Warren Larson, Marlene (Richard) Tyner, LaVonne (Lowell) Anderson and Loren Larson.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 44 yrs, Joanne Schwartz, and his constant companion, his dog Charlie; sister-in-in law Vicky Larson and brother-in- law Richard Tyner along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodney has described his beloved Joanne, by saying, “Loving you is the best and easiest decision I ever made”.
The family would like to thank Rodney and Joanne’s neighbor Jenny, for the caregiver assistance and friendship she provided him over the last several years.
Rodney was a wonderful neighbor and a great man he will be missed.
I grew up next door to the Larsons and was a friend of Rodney”s. After high school, Rodney moved down to the twin cities for employment. He would come back to Warren once or twice a month and we would get together and catch on the latest things going on in our lives. He was especially proud of his new Pontiac GTO. Then I got married and ended up in Alaska. I didn’t have his phone number or address so I lost track of Rodney. I tried to look up “Rodney Larson” on the internet but there are many, many “Rodney Larson’s” on it. I have nothing but great memories of the times I spent with Rodney. He was a great friend, kind, shy, funny, and very interesting. It always felt good to be in his company. May the Lord richly bless you and your family as you move forward in recovery from your lose.
