Charles “Charlie” or “Chuck” William Klenk, 75, passed away on May 9, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague from complications of bone cancer. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 3:30pm in St. Casmir’s Cemetery in Wells, MN.
Charlie was born on March 8, 1951, in Wells, Minnesota, to the late Edward and Helen (Chicos) Klenk. He grew up on the family farm in Walnut Lake Township, where he enjoyed the outdoors, riding motorcycles, photography, and coming up with endless project ideas. He graduated from Wells-Easton Highschool in 1969. He married Linda Amundson in 1973, and they later divorced in 1979. Charlie lived in the Cities for a few years before returning to the Klenk farm, where he worked as a hired hand for Kalis Farms. He especially enjoyed watching farmers at work and observing wildlife, earning the nickname “Gooseman.”
Charlie had a big heart, though it could take time to earn his trust. He was known for saying, “If you don’t get what you want, get louder.” He will be greatly missed by his neighbor and friend, Paul, and his family.
Charles is survived by his great friends Paul & Kathy Kalis family; sister-in-law Ruth (Bob) Little; niece Stephanie Klenk (Richard Johnson); great-nephew Otto Johnson and other friends he kept in touch with over the years along with his Motorcycle Club buddies.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his brother John Klenk (1975) and companion Peggy Fowler (2015).
