Carol M. Gjere, age 87 of Bricelyn, MN died Sunday, July 12, 2026. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior (10:00-11:00am) to the service at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN. Burial will be at Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery in Seely Twp., Faribault Co.
Carol Merry Ann was born February 2, 1939 to Andrew and Marie (Werner) Ehrich in Wells, MN. She married Laverne Gjere June 15, 1958 in Wells, MN. During her life she babysat the Larson children, worked for the Blue Earth Valley Telephone Company, and worked at the Bricelyn meat market for 7 years. She was a deli clerk at Juba’s, a cook for the Bricelyn and Kiester school for 9 years. She helped Vern for many years deliver Winnebago motorhomes all over the U.S. and Canada. Carol was a longtime member of Bricelyn Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, and she enjoyed being a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern; her parents Andrew and Marie; brother David Ehrich and Bill (Helen) Ehrich; father and mother-in-law Harry and Helen Gjere; brothers-in-law: Bruce Melaas and Raymond Martin and nephew Mark Ehrich.
Carol is survived by her children: Mike (Trish) Gjere of Blue Earth, MN, Paul (Deb) Gjere of Rochester, MN, Sue Osland (Dennis Johnson) of Frost, MN and Karen (Kelly) Hinrichsen of Runnells, IA; grandchildren: Ben (Chelsey) Gjere, Lyndsey (Mike) McQuade, Stacy (Nolan) Peterson, Sarah (Ryan) Sullivan, Conrad Osland (Leigha Scholtz), Preston Osland (McKayla Bauleke), Johanna (Ben) Phillips, Clare (Gaige) Dunkin; great grandchildren: Caeley and Casey Gjere; Maddy, Calvin and Daxton McQuade; Cora, Emmit and Elsie Peterson; Jameson Sullivan; Leti and Willa Phillips; Olin and Aletta Osland; baby Dunkin on the way; and Leon, Carol & Conrad’s dog; siblings: Don (Elaine) Ehrich Albert Lea, MN, Bob (Lorraine) Ehrich of Baxter, MN and Joyce Ehrich of Wells, MN; sisters-in-law: Geri Melass of Georgia and Marlys Martin of Arizona; many nieces, nephews and their families.
My sincere sympathy to all who loved Carol!. Carol and I were childhood playmates, spent years going to the same church and confirmed together as well as graduating from Wells-Easton Highshool. Although we
Left the Wells area, I thought of Carol often. God be with all of you who mourn her passing.
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Aunt Carol was special and I enjoyed visiting with the entire Gjere family when we would visit Minnesota. We cannot make it to the funeral but will be keeping Carol and her family in our thoughts and prayers.
