Lorna Elizabeth was born November 13, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Lucilla (Rollenhagen) Stevermer in Easton, MN. She attended catholic school at St. Casimir and graduated from Wells High School, the class of 1953. She was united in marriage to Marlin Feist on Sept. 11, 1954, and the couple were blessed with 6 sons. After 59 years of marriage, Marlin preceded Lorna in death in 2014.
Lorna worked various jobs while also helping Marly on the family farm. Lorna was co-owner of Cottage Crafts in Wells. Her skill at crocheting, sewing, hardanger and embroidery was well known. Her family was very fortunate to receive many beautiful items handmade with love by Lorna.
She was a life-long member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Her greatest love, however, was her family. She attended many ballgames and performances over the years from her sons to her grandchildren. Her pride in her boys, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren was unmistakable. Lorna never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Her memory was an amazing gift to her family.
Lorna is survived by 6 sons: Jim (Ann) of Mankato, Brian of St. Petersburg, FL, Randy (Barb), Tom (Kristi), Rick (Anne) and Brett (GeDee), all of Wells, MN; 8 grandchildren: Ryan Feist, Rachael Feist, Jon (Nikki) Feist, Hannah (Nathan) Goette; Ashley Feist (Darren Martin), Hayden (Alee) Feist, Adam (Amber) Feist and Kaden Engebretson; Great-grandchildren: Siddalee and Ever Bungarden; Lennox, Loxlee, Pixel and Caprix Feist; Tillea, Gryer and Vella Goette; Kati Feist; Grant Feist; Siblings: Rita (Dave) Craft, Mary (Gene) Beckmann, Kay Lee (Bob Buresh), Lynette (Paul) Lair; sisters-in-law: Pat Stevermer and Janice Stevermer; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
Lorna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marlin; and 4 brothers: Glen, Roland, Earle and Merle.
My deepest sympathy to family and friends in the loss of Lorna. Thoughts, hugs, prayers and warm memories.
Our prayers are with the family. I have many fond memories of Lorna and the Feist family from my days in Wells. May God’s grace comfort you all.
My condolences and prayers to the Feist family. Growing up always new her as, “Jim’s mom”. She was always kind and friendly to everyone.
